Conversations about Jesus

Last night before bed, Jeff & Jacob had a very deep & heartfelt discussion about Jesus. Jeff has been great with talking about Jesus and teaching Jacob about prayer. Quite honestly, he has done a better job with it than I have! Jacob will tell you that Jesus "lives up high" and point up to the sky. Last night, Jacob was apparently very curious about Jesus, and so began the inquisition.

Jacob: "Is Jesus big?"

Jeff: "He can be big. But He can also be small. Small enough to fit in your heart."

Jacob: "Oh. A tiny one? A tiny Jesus?" (and holds his thumb & index finger about an inch apart)

Jeff: "Yes, a tiny Jesus."

Jacob: "Oh. Does Jesus fight bad guys?"

Jeff: "No, Jesus doesn't fight. He loves everyone. He wants to give everyone a hug."

Jacob: "Oh. Does Jesus like food?"

Jeff: "Yes, Jesus likes food."

Jacob: "Like strawberries? And apples? And bananas? And grapes?"

Jeff: "Yes, I think He does. He made all of those things."

Jacob: "Oh. Does Jesus wear shoes?"

Jeff: "Yes, I think He does wear shoes."

Jacob: "Does Jesus like to walk?"

Jeff: "Yes, He likes to walk. He walks a lot. Do you know how you're daddy's son? Well, Jesus is God's son."

Jacob: "Ohhh. OK, goodnight, Daddy."


And tonight, as Jeff was putting Jacob to bed, the following conversation ensued:

Jacob: "What's your favorites, Daddy?"

Jeff: "Jesus, God, Mommy, Jacob, & Alex. What's your favorites?"

Jacob: "Cookies...muffins...and Jesus...and God."
