Man in the mirror

A surefire way to get a smile out of Will these days? Put him in front of a mirror. Sometimes he grins excitedly because he sees my reflection. And it's thrilling to see Mommy in the mirror AND be in her arms at the same time.

But when he tears his gaze away from me, he notices a very friendly baby looking back at him. It can be a bit surprising to suddenly notice another baby directly in front of you.

"Why hello there. Where did you come from?"

It seems that this game isn't exclusively for babies. The mirror is still fascinating years later.

You can practice your smile.

And naturally, make silly faces.

Notice the legs on the stairs in the background. While it may appear someone is falling down the steps while Mommy ignores it and casually takes pictures, it's actually Jacob creatively descending the stairs on his belly.

Hours later, after the boys were asleep for the night, it was finally Will's turn to have the mirror to himself. Of course he's far too young to realize the baby in the mirror is him. It is adorable watching him interact with the reflection...like he's enjoying his own baby playdate.

"My, we are both devilishly handsome, don't you agree? I'm not conceited- just honest."

"OK, let's play a game. On the count of 3, put your right fist in your mouth. Wow, you're good at this!"

"That was fun. On a serious note, though, any time you want to talk, I'm right here. Goooo."

"Goodnight, my good-looking and sweet baby friend. Catch ya here tomorrow. Same time, same place."

Three beautiful boys. How can they not admire themselves?
