This morning, I left the boys alone downstairs for two minutes while I ran up to brush my teeth. In that span of time, Alex concocted and carried out a plan. I like to imagine this all happening with the theme music from "Mission: Impossible" playing in the background.
1) Notice Mommy is absent.
2) Remember box of donuts from yesterday's breakfast is on the counter.
3) Realize it's just out of reach of fingertips.
4) Slide chair over from kitchen table.
5) Stand on chair to easily reach box of donuts.
6) Snatch the last chocolate iced donut and eagerly begin gobbling it up.
7) Continue eating even as big brother yells to absent mother, "Mommy! Alex is eatin' a donut!"
8) Remain calm, cool, and collected as mother sprints down the stairs and returns to the kitchen.
9) Take a big bite just to show her what can happen in two minutes.
Two minutes!!

His face is classic! He looks mildly shocked to be caught, but still determined to take as big of a bite as possible before you take it away from him. Hilarious.

So precious!! Jade figured out how to get to things on the counter one day several months ago.... Thankfully I wasn't home - Grammy and Pop-Pop were "watching her" while mommy was donating blood one morning. She got up to the counter on a stool of some sort and got a hold of the sugar bowl (the one Pop-Pop used for his coffee that morning). Needless to say it ended up ALL OVER the counter, all over her, a couple spoonfuls in the butter dish, all over the floor and probably down between the cabinet and the refrigerator. My first question was "did you get a picture" but sadly, they did not. You gotta love those terrible twos!!! -- Jennifer
But he's only 17 months old! I can't have the terrible twos starting THIS early! :)
I can't even imagine having to clean up all of that sugar. What a mess. Better keep these two away from each other. Who knows what they'd get into? :)
