Without further ado, here are some scenes from our Halloween. Brace yourself for a picture post.
Saturday, October 30th was spent at Grandmom & Granddad's house. Just like in past years, their neighborhood held a daytime trick-or-treating session. And the tradition of carving pumpkins with their grandparents was also continued.
First, we costumed up.
Allow me to introduce you to Iron Man (aka Alex),

War Machine (Iron Man's buddy and Alex's big brother),

and Tigger (aka Will).
Time to trick or treat!

Grandmom & Nani handing out candy to Captain Rex (aka Daniel), Snow White (aka Lainey), War Machine, and Iron Man.
I love this moment I happened to capture because it wasn't at all staged. Alex just loves his Nani.
After trick-or-treating, it was pumpkin carving time!
How did Will spend his time during pumpkin carving? Well, he crawled around, chewed on toys ("Look, Mom, no hands!"),
posed for a picture,

and later, hung out on Granddad's lap.
Grandmom surprised the kids with a Whoopee cushion. It was a huge hit. So much of a hit that I'm thinking it might just find its way into two little boys' stockings on Christmas morning.

Sunday, October 31st...what better way to begin a holiday filled with candy than a breakfast of donuts?
That afternoon, we attended our neighborhood's Halloween party. There was food, a costume parade, a pumpkin carving contest (that Aunt Tricia impressively snagged 2nd and 3rd place in!), and lots (and lots) of running around.
Jacob discovered a friend from his Kindergarten class who happens to also live in our neighborhood. They were excited to see each other.
The boys, their cousins, and Jacob's friend sprinting around. They were running from a "white werewolf", who was actually the older brother of another boy from Jacob's school. They all had a blast.
Finally, after weeks of asking when it would be time to trick or treat, Halloween Eve was here! It's become tradition for Nan & Pop to stop by, see costumes, trick or treat, and help with answering the door.
Ready to go get some candy!
And ready to take the first shift of handing out candy to the trick or treaters!
We encountered a very cute little lion along the way.
We trick or treated with cousins, and they all did a great job of taking turns ringing doorbells. They enjoyed every minute of it!
I had an almost impossible time getting a picture of Alex's face. In some, he's a moving blur, and in most, it's a picture of him running from behind. Just before it was time for me to relieve Jeff and let him trick or treat, I pleaded with Alex to turn around and smile. Just once! Just one smile, please!
In classic Alex fashion (because this kid detests posed photos), this is what he gave me.
We had very happy Halloween celebrations all weekend long with family!

I love that holidays become fun all over again when you have kids.
Looks like everyone had a great time. I especially love that picture of Will with the pumpkin. There's so much orange-- his hair, his outfit, the pumpkin-- so cute!!
It was so much fun. I love all the pictures. I'm glad the kids had such a great time.
